CTAER

CTAER is a technology centre whose main objective is to contribute to the optimization of technologies related to the exploitation of renewable energy resources. It was established as a Foundation at the instigation of the Andalusian Government, through its specialised Energy and Innovation agencies (IDEA and AAE) and its executive board is comprised of the leading Spanish companies in the Renewable Energies industry, Universities as well as the National Government Research Centre for Energy, Environment and Technology (CIEMAT). With time more members and collaborators where incorporated.

The team which leads this technology centre counts on decades of experience in the renewable energy sector, both in the academic world and in financial and business management. Over 30 years of active presence in the sector has led to a wide collaborative network, in diverse fields, both nationally and internationally.

The projects carried out by the CTAER focus mainly on performance optimisation and cost efficiency for technologies related to the basic renewable energy resources; Solar, Wind and Biomass, that are particularly abundant in Andalusia. For strategic reasons the Solar Work Area is located in the Almeria desert, in Tabernas; the Wind Area, in the Atlantic Andalusian Coast; and the Biomass Area, in the high Guadalquivir, in the Jaen municipality of Mengibar, within the Oil and Olive Scientific-Technological Park, GEOLIT.
